Attitude is simply What You Think...The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts. - Marcus AureliusHave you ever wanted something in your life to be completely, fully, and singularly within your control? You've got it! You have the opportunity to completely control what you think. The brain is a simple binary machine. It can only think about one thing at one time, even though it can do that very quickly. With practice, you can decide exactly what you want to pay attention to, and eliminate the chatter and racing thoughts-the monkey mind. You've probably had the experience of having your mind fixate on a negative thought. That's called worrying. Worrying about something that might happen or something that seems out of our control is a poor use of energy. Deciding to pay attention to the positive is a good remedy for that. If you are having doubts that you can control your thoughts, practice. Sit for a while and pay attention to where your mind wanders. Decide what you want to think about and bring your mind back to it each time it wanders. Choose something simple such as deciding on your favorite vacation spot. Each time the mind wanders to thoughts of money, available time, or anything aside from the vacation, re-focus. Your thoughts are powerful. And, what you pay attention to expands!
