Good Self Esteem is your right.
When was the last time you took care of yourself and did
something that you really wanted to do?
If it was during the last week, congratulations! If it was
in the last month, good for you. Sometimes we do not want to do things
alone, which is understandable. Some things are terrific to share. What,
though, if no one comes along to share those special things with you?
Are you never going to do them then?
Taking good care of yourself is so important for your self
esteem and self confidence.
That includes taking yourself out and doing things you enjoy, too.
Have
you taken yourself to the movies? That is surely one place that one can
comfortably go alone, isn't it? Just you, a big box of popcorn, an outrageously
priced soda pop - and a hundred of your closest strangers. Even if you
have someone with you, you watch the picture without talking.
Do you take yourself for a walk?
Do you go to a museum or art gallery?
Do you sit by the water and relax?
Even
if you have a life partner, there are going to be things that he or she
does not enjoy but that you do.
Do things because they bring YOU pleasure? Taking good care of yourself
in every way is a very positive kind of "selfishness".
Taking care of yourself fills you up with good things to share with
the other folks in your life...including a very good mood.
Self esteem is a powerful, life-affecting combination of
your perception of yourself - your confidence,
image, skills, drive, ambition, dreams, relationships
- and how you approach living!
